America made a big mistake by mistake, sent billions of rupees to the Taliban
USA Funding to Taliban: The US government has sent more than 20 billion rupees to the Taliban. Now the government is calling it a mistake of its department.

America, which declared the Taliban a terrorist organization, itself is busy nourishing it. This news is spreading all over the world these days because the US government has released funds to the Taliban, too, a huge amount of 239 million dollars. If we count this amount in Indian rupees, then this amount comes out to be more than 20 billion 5 crore 28 lakhs. The news has a twist-what happened was that, although America gave such a huge amount to the Taliban, it was not on purpose. Yes, America has clarified that the funding given to the Taliban has been transferred by them only by mistake.
The BRICS News report, citing a US government watchdog, said that the Taliban received at least $239 million in US aid aimed at combating terrorism after the US State Department's investigation processes failed. The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) released a 2024 report identifying at least 29 grants where the Taliban mistakenly received anti-terrorism funds.
According to the Judicial Watch report, the investigation into the matter revealed that the US State Department's 'International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs' and 'Democracy, Human Rights and Labor', which released the funds, gave this amount to the Taliban on the basis that the Afghanistan State Department had failed to stop terrorist activities in its country. The report identified more than two dozen such transactions where these divisions have failed to keep proper investigation records. The US has set up a high-level committee to investigate the matter of this mistaken funding, which will investigate the mistake of the officials and the department.
