Actor's dead body found rotting in his own house, was once a household name

Actor and director Ravindra Mahajani, who was once a well-known face of Marathi films, has passed away. Ravindra was found dead at his rented house in Talegaon Dabhade, Pune. Neighbors of 77-year-old Ravindra called the police at 4.30 pm on Friday, complaining of a foul smell coming from their apartment. When the police reached the spot, they found the dead body of the actor lying there. Seeing the condition of the dead body, the police is assuming that he died 3 days back.

According to the police, Ravindra Mahajani was living alone in a rented apartment in Zarbia Society in Talegaon Dabhade for about eight months. No one was with him, so his death was detected by the foul smell of the dead body. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. The cause of death will be clear only after the post-mortem report comes. Ravindra had worked in many Marathi films. Some of his characters became very popular and at one time he was a well-known face of Marathi cinema.
