6.8 magnitude earthquake shook Morocco, many buildings destroyed, 296 dead so far

A powerful earthquake struck the southwest part of Marrakesh, Morocco, late on Friday night. Morocco was shaken by the tremors of the 6.8 magnitude earthquake. Dozens of buildings were razed to the ground due to this terrible earthquake. At least 300 people have died after the powerful earthquake. The shock came late at night when people were sleeping. There is a possibility of people getting buried in the debris. There was panic among the local people as soon as they felt the tremors of the earthquake. People left their homes and came out on the streets. Relief and rescue work is going on like the administration. The epicenter of the earthquake was 71 km from Marrakesh at a depth of 18.5 km.

The tremors were felt at 11 p.m. local time. A large number of houses have collapsed in the city of Marrakesh. The blow was so strong that there was a hue and cry among the people. Even after the earthquake, there is fear in the minds of the people and they are not going back to their homes. Videos posted on social media showed collapsed buildings, piles of debris strewn in narrow streets, and devastation all around. Debris accumulates on the roads. After the devastation, the local people started relief work.
