Gujarat Police has detained 45 Pakistani Hindus living illegally. It is being told that even after the expiry of the visa, these people were living here. According to the police, these people were staying at Akoli village in Banaskantha even after their visas had expired and their applications for long-term visas (LTV) were rejected. This action was taken against these people on the charge of staying illegally for about two months. The local Intelligence Bureau and Police are taking further action.
Giving information about the incident, Police Inspector Santosh Dhobi of the Local Intelligence Bureau said that these Pakistani nationals were detained from Akoli village here. Santosh Dhobi said that now the process of sending him back to his country Pakistan is going on.
Police Inspector Santosh told that this Pakistani citizen had come to India to visit Haridwar in Uttarakhand. After this came to Banaskantha to meet his relatives. He was in India for the last two months on a valid visa. They overstayed as their visas had expired and their LTV was not approved. The police inspector said that they were in Banaskantha for the last four-five days.
Recently, Pakistan handed over the list of Indian citizens lodged in its jails to the Indian High Commission. Currently, 308 Indians including 42 civilians and 266 fishermen are lodged in Pakistani jails. At the same time, 417 prisoners of Pakistan are lodged in Indian jails. Of these, 343 are common citizens and 74 are fishermen.
