Ole Electric will provide 25,000 jobs: CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said - 2,000-acre mega factory will become the global centre of EV
Ola Electric's new EV manufacturing unit under construction in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu will employ about 25,000 people after running on a full scale. The company's co-founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal gave this information at the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet today (January 7).
Bhavish said, 'Apart from manufacturing capacity, this EV hub spread over 2000 acres will also have vendor and supplier network. Together we will make Tamil Nadu and India the global epicenter of EV.
He said, 'We have been able to build India's largest two-wheeler manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu in just eight months. Production will start here next month. We are starting this also in record time. This is possible only in India and Tamil Nadu.
Bhavish said that this will be India's first gigafactory. When it starts running on a full scale, it is expected that about 1 crore two-wheelers will be manufactured here every year. In January last year, Ola Electric signed an MOU with the Tamil Nadu government to invest ₹7,000 crore in the state.
In June last year, Ola Electric announced the construction of this mega factory in Tamil Nadu. In this, a Gigafactory is being built in collaboration with Ola Future Factory and other suppliers to make EVs.
Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet (GIM) was inaugurated today at Chennai Trade Centre. More than 30 countries along with 9 partner countries are participating in this session of the event. GIM will be for two days.
Ola Electric has currently emerged as the market leader in the electric two-wheeler category, the company's market share till November was around 32%. According to vehicle data, the company sold around 30,000 units of the vehicle.
