According to the report of wabetainfo, users will be able to use alphanumeric characters on WhatsApp User Name. Apart from this, the user name can also be kept using some special characters.

That means the user will be able to keep his identity different and special with a name of his choice. The new option of WhatsApp User Name will be visible to the users in the profile settings.

With the facility of WhatsApp User Name, the user will be able to chat with unknown people on WhatsApp. The good thing is that in case of an unknown user, the WhatsApp user will be able to keep his phone number hidden.

An unknown user will see the same name as the WhatsApp user, which the WhatsApp user has chosen for himself.
