Preparations are underway to run Vande Bharat sleeper trains on long-distance routes soon in the country. Its first batch will start next year. Giving information about this, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Integral Coach Factory ICF Chennai is preparing the design for the sleeper variant Vande Bharat trains by the end of December. The first few trains will be ready by March 2024.

The Railway Minister also said that currently around 22 Vande Bharat trains are being prepared as per schedule. Vande Bharat's sleeper trains will facilitate overnight travel for long-distance passengers.

Sleeper Vande Bharat trains will facilitate overnight travel and travel on long routes. Passengers will get a Wi-Fi facility in Vande Bharat 3.0 train equipped with sleeper class coaches. It will also have an LED screen to keep the passengers updated. Along with this, this train will have an automatic fire sensor, GPS system, and other facilities to make the journey safe, smooth, and comfortable. Vande Bharat trains currently running in the country have chair car coaches and are running on the Shatabdi route.
