Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia made a big statement on Saturday (July 27). Scindia said that telecom connectivity coverage in the villages of the country will be made 100 percent within the target of the next 12 months. Union Telecom and North Eastern Region Development Minister Scindia said that the Cabinet has approved a special fund for this. The aim is to monitor the progress of the work every week.

Addressing the press conference, Scindia said, 'The Prime Minister of the country is committed to complete this work 100 percent. We have identified about 24000 villages in the country, where there is a dire need for telecom connection.' Scindia said that the government has already rolled out a special scheme for all the villages, and funds have also been released to achieve this objective. The minister further said that special strategies are being prepared to provide better telecom connectivity in the villages of the northeastern states. After implementing these policies, a lot of improvement can be seen.

Scindia further said that according to the new Telecom Act, necessary telecom infrastructure and technology like V Set and Satellite will be used. In such a situation, a target of one year has been set to provide telecom connectivity to the villages. Scindia said that I myself am monitoring the work being done every week in this regard, so far 13 to 14 hundred villages have been covered. Scindia said that in the financial year 2024-25, money has been allocated in the Union Budget to complete this scheme in the northeastern states.

Scindia claimed that in the last 75 years, the northeastern states have been treated like orphans, but due to the efficiency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, more attention has been paid to this region, which is the engine of development. According to the special fund, Rs 11 thousand crore has been given to Assam and Sikkim to deal with floods. At the same time, a provision was made in the last budget to open 100 new branches of India Post Payment Bank. DoNER Minister Scindia said that money has been allocated for this region. In the coming time, the connectivity structure in this region will be improved through central tax and investment.
