Syria-like situation in Manipur... Retired Army Chief appeals to PM Modi and Home Minister to intervene immediately
Manipur Violence: Former Army Chief VP Malik has appealed to PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene immediately to control the situation amid the ongoing violence in Manipur since May 3.

The violence that started in Manipur on May 3 is not taking the name of stopping even after almost a month and a half. Ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki tribes in Manipur continues despite appeals for peace by the central and state governments. Every effort being taken by the government and the police administration is failing. No party is ready to accept the Biren government of the state. Amidst these circumstances, former Army Chief General (Retd) Ved Prakash Malik has appealed to the country's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to pay immediate attention to the situation in Manipur.
Retired Lieutenant General L Nishikant Singh tweeted about the serious situation in Manipur and described the situation in the state as Syria-Lebanon. VP Malik has given such a statement regarding this. The lieutenant general wrote – I am an ordinary Indian from Manipur, who is leading a retired life. But the state is now stateless.
Life and property can be terminated by anyone, at any time. No one has any control, as the situation happens in Libya, Lebanon, Nigeria, and Syria, the same situation has happened in Manipur. Looking at the present situation, it seems that Manipur has been left to burn in its own fire. is anyone listening
Expressing concern over this tweet, former Chief VP Malik said that it is very sad for an army officer to say such a thing. High-level officials of the government should immediately pay attention to the situation in the state. PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh should immediately intervene in this matter so that the situation can be rectified. Now drastic action is needed here as soon as possible.
In Manipur, more than 105 people have died and about 40 thousand people have been displaced in the ongoing caste violence between the Kuki and Meitei communities over the reservation. Meanwhile, intelligence has claimed that a large number of miscreants may enter the state in police uniforms. These people have ordered a tailor to stitch the uniform.
