Sunrisers won SA20 title for the second consecutive time, Kavya Maran jumped with joy

Sunrisers Eastern Cape has won the title for the second consecutive time by defeating Durban Super Giants by 89 runs in the title match of South African League SA20 2024. This is the second season of SA20, in the first season also Sunrisers Hyderabad won the title. The heroes of the Sunrisers' victory in the final match were captain Markram along with Tristan Stubbs, Jordan Harman, Marco Yenson and Tom Abel. Batting first, Sunrisers amassed 204 runs for three wickets. The Durban team was bowled out for 115 runs in just 17 overs as a result. Arriving during the game, Kavya Maran leapt with delight upon the team's triumph.

In the SA20 final, Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the toss and elected to bat first, but they got off to a rough start. David Malan, the opener, was out with just a score of 15. Following this, a partnership of 90 runs for the second wicket was established by Harman (42) and Abel (55), paving the way for a large score. Following the elimination of these two, the team's score was exceeded by captain Markram (42) and Tristan Stubbs (56).

Durban appeared to be having trouble right away as they set out to pursue the lofty goal of 205 runs. During the powerplay itself, Quinton de Kock, JJ Smuts, and Bhanuka Rajapaksa all made a comeback to the pavilion. With 38 runs, Wayne Mulder recorded the highest innings, followed by Dwayne Pretorius with 28 and Junior Dala with 15. After Heinrich Klaasen, a star player, scored a golden duck, the team as a whole collapsed for 115 runs in 17 overs.

Tom Abel of the Sunrisers was named player of the match for his brilliant 55-run innings. Simultaneously, Heinrich Klaasen was chosen Player of the Series after using his bat to defeat numerous bowlers during the competition.
