In Bengaluru, a person stole more than 50 laptops from his company to pay off his debt and sold them at cheap prices. The accused used to work as a system admin in the company. The police arrested him on the basis of CCTV footage. At present, five laptops have been recovered. The accused was caught at a theater and is now in jail.

A 29-year-old youth from Bengaluru had stolen more than 50 laptops from his company and further sold them at cheaper prices, leading to huge losses to the company. Recently, the police in Bengaluru arrested the accused and put him behind bars.

The accused who sold more than 50 laptops has been identified as Murugesh M, a resident of Hosur in Tamil Nadu. He used to work in Technicolour India Private Limited. Accused Murugesh M was a system admin in the company. He used to manage the inventory of laptops in the company.

Bengaluru police arrested Murugesh M on Tuesday. Giving information about the whole case, police said that the accused had cultivated tomatoes during the time of COVID-19, in which he suffered a loss of Rs 25 lakh. Because of this, he had a debt. To return the loan, the accused stole laptops from the firm and sold them at cheap prices.

The police have recovered five out of the 50 stolen laptops. Actually, Murugesh's company was going to buy new laptops by selling old laptops. During this time, the accused started stealing laptops and selling them.

During police interrogation, the accused said that he stole one or two laptops at a time and sold them to a shop in Hosur. In this way, he kept stealing and selling laptops. Then there was an audit of the company, in which the information about the theft of laptops came to light.

After this, the company checked the CCTV footage, in which the accused Murugesh was seen taking laptops from the company. The company registered a case against Murugesh M on August 30.

The police said that the accused had stopped coming to the office from August 22 itself. Since then the police was looking for him. Later, the accused was arrested from a movie theatre. Currently, the accused is in jail and his interrogation is going on.
