Rupee opened stronger against the dollar, gained by so much money in early trade

On Tuesday, October 17, the rupee is trading with gains against the dollar in early trade. Rupee is trading 5 paise higher at 83.22.

At what price did the rupee open today?
On the Interbank Foreign Exchange, the rupee opened at 83.24 against the dollar today and then touched an early high of 83.22, a rise of 5 paise over its previous close. Yesterday i.e. on Monday, the rupee had closed at 83.27 against the US dollar.

Gaurang Somaiya, Forex and Bullion Analyst, Motilal Oswal Financial, told news agency PTI that 'We expect the rupee to trade in the range of 83.05 and 83.50. This week, on the domestic front, no major economic data is expected to be released, but on the global front, the dollar may react to the Fed member's speech and some important economic data from the US.

Dollar index strengthened
The dollar index, which gauges the dollar's strength against six currencies, was trading 0.06 percent higher at 106.30.

Increase in crude futures
Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures rose 0.02 percent to US$89.67 per barrel. According to exchange data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 593.66 crore yesterday i.e. on Monday.

Today BSE Sensex is trading 325.65 points or 0.49 percent higher at 66,492.58 in early trade. NSE Nifty is trading at 19,829.90, up 98.15 points or 0.5 percent.
