Rajnath Singh, the minister of defence, is now in Tamil Nadu. He stated on Monday that no Indian, regardless of faith, will lose their citizenship as a result of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA). Singh has charged that the DMK and the opposition Congress are "creating confusion" regarding the matter.

In support of KP Ramalingam, the BJP's nominee for Namakkal, Rajnath Singh spoke at a public rally in Namakkal, Tenkasi, and Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu. During a roadshow here, he claimed that the BJP always followed through on its commitments, citing the building of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the repeal of Article 370, and the CAA as examples.

Rajnath Singh further said "We had promised the Citizenship Act and we did it. I want to make it clear that no citizen of India – whether Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Parsi or Jew – will lose his citizenship." He has accused DMK and Congress of creating confusion in this matter.

On the abolition of triple talaq, Rajnath said that 'mothers and sisters' of any religion are 'our mothers and sisters'. He said that whatever the atrocities against our mothers and sisters of any religion, we stand with them and we have proved this by abolishing triple talaq.
