Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's two-day Wayanad tour begins today. On Saturday morning, he left for Wayanad from the capital Delhi. After being reinstated as a Lok Sabha MP, he is going on a tour of his parliamentary constituency for the first time. In such a situation, vigorous preparations have been made to welcome him in Wayanad, Kerala. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be in Wayanad on August 12-13. He will also hold a public meeting here. This is Rahul's first visit to Wayanad after being reinstated as an MP. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal informed about Rahul Gandhi's visit to Wayanad. He told that the people of Wayanad are very happy that democracy has won. His voice has returned to Parliament, Rahul is not just his MP but a member of the family.
Regarding Rahul Gandhi's visit to Wayanad, on August 8, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee's working president VT Siddiqui had said that Rahul Gandhi would come to Wayanad on August 12. We are going to arrange a warm reception for them and preparations have already started. Siddiqui had also told that Rahul Gandhi would also attend the meeting of the District Congress Committee. The people of Wayanad are all set to celebrate seeing their MP back in their constituency.
It may be known that Rahul Gandhi was stripped of his membership after being sentenced to two years by the Surat Sessions Court in a defamation case involving the Modi surname. After not getting relief from the Gujarat High Court, Rahul Gandhi approached the Supreme Court. Where he got a big relief on the 4th of August.
After the Supreme Court stayed the conviction of Rahul Gandhi, the Lok Sabha Secretariat reinstated Rahul Gandhi's membership on Monday i.e. 7th August. Now he is going to his parliamentary constituency for the first time four days after getting the seat.
