New Delhi : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha has changed his bio on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to "Suspended Member of Parliament". This comes a day after Chadha was suspended from Rajya Sabha for "gross violation of rules, misconduct, defiant attitude and contemptuous conduct", pending investigation by the privileges committee.

Chadha was suspended after a complaint from four Rajya Sabha members, who alleged that he had included their names in a proposed select committee for the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023 without their consent. Chadha has denied the allegations, saying that he had only proposed the names of the members and that they were free to accept or decline the invitation.

The suspension of Chadha has been met with criticism from the AAP and other opposition parties. They have accused the BJP of using its majority in the Rajya Sabha to stifle dissent. Chadha himself has said that his suspension is a "political vendetta" by the BJP.
