Questions raised on IIT Madras report and director regarding NEET data, know what NTA replied
NEET-UG: A petitioner in the NEET UG case said that the data analyst report of IIT Madras is not reliable because IIT Madras director V Kamakoti is also a member of NTA, the government agency that conducts the NEET exam. In such a situation, conflict of interest is possible.
IIT Madras has submitted its report to the government on the alleged paper leak case of the NEET UG exam. The government said that according to this report, there has been no rigging in the NEET UG exam for medical admission. Questions are being raised on the report of IIT Madras and a petitioner who filed a petition in the NEET case raised questions on the report of IIT Madras. The issue of conflict of interest also arose in this case, but the exam conducting agency NTA denied the allegations.
In fact, a petitioner in the NEET UG case said that the data analyst report of IIT Madras is not reliable because IIT Madras Director V Kamakoti is also a member of NTA, the government agency that conducts the NEET exam. In such a situation, a conflict of interest is possible. In response to this, the NTA told the Supreme Court that IIT Madras Director V Kamakoti being a member of NTA cannot be called a conflict of interest. The NTA told the court that the Director of IIT Madras is a member of the administrative body of NTA. The main work of NTA is done by the management body of the agency and the administrative body works only on policy matters.
The NTA also said that the Director of IIT Madras had appointed another professor to attend the meetings of the administrative body of NTA, but that professor had also not attended the meetings of NTA since December last year. V Kamakoti has also not attended any meeting of NTA since December 2022. In such a situation, the allegation of conflict of interest is wrong.
It is worth noting that IIT Madras has submitted its report on the NEET UG data case to the government. In this report, IIT Madras has dismissed the possibility of rigging in the exam. The government cited the report of IIT Madras in the Supreme Court.
