PoK Clashes: There is no sign of stopping the violence in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. Pakistani Army Rangers were deployed in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) to control violent protests that broke out in the region on Sunday. This decision was taken on the call of the Awami Action Committee (AAC). In fact, protests against high electricity bills and taxes continued for the third consecutive day on Sunday.

On Friday, during a protest in Mirpur, there was a violent altercation between protesters and police that left over 90 people injured and one police officer dead.
As a result of the suspension of internet and mobile phone service in a number of PoJK regions, including Bhimber, Mirpur, and Bagh Town, local mobile services have also been impacted, according to The News International. Additionally, the AAC's central leadership has disassociated itself from the violent events that transpired throughout the protests. The AAC claims to be a peaceful movement, according to member Sajid Jagwal. He reported that nothing unusual had happened during his two days of sitting.
ARY News reported that Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will call a high-level meeting on Monday to discuss the current situation in the region. Earlier, PM Sharif on Sunday also spoke to the PoJK prime minister and directed Pakistan Muslim League-N officials in the region to engage with the action committee leaders to find a peaceful solution.
Shehbaz Sharif has said that he is concerned about this and taking law into one's own hands and damaging government properties will not be tolerated. At least one police officer was killed and 90 others injured in violent clashes during the ongoing protests and shutdown strike in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), Dawn reported on Saturday.
