In the first leg of the tour, PM Modi will visit Japan for the summit of G-7 countries from May 19 to 21. In the second phase, the PM will reach Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea on 21 May. Papua New Guinea will jointly host the 3rd Summit of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) with PM James Marape. In the third and final leg, he will be in Sydney on May 22-24 for a bilateral meeting with his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese. On the last leg of the tour, PM Modi along with his Australian counterpart will address thousands of NRIs in Sydney. This visit of PM Modi is considered very important.
PM Modi will visit the Japanese city of Hiroshima for the first time. Prime Minister Modi was invited by PM Fumio Kishida of Japan. Where he will participate in the annual summit of the G-7, a group of developed economies of the world. Japan is hosting the summit as the current chair of the G-7 group. And India has been invited as a guest country in this. On the sidelines of this conference, PM Modi will discuss bilateral issues with Japanese PM Fumio Kishida. Then he will also unveil the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Hiroshima city.

After Japan, Prime Minister Modi will jointly host the 3rd Summit of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Co-operation (FIPIC) with Prime Minister James Marape of Papua New Guinea on 22 May. This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Papua New Guinea.
Established in 2014, FIPIC comprises India and 14 Pacific island countries - Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Tuvalu, Kiribati, Samoa, Vanuatu, Niue, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Cook Islands, Palau, Nauru, and the Solomon Islands.
After this, PM Modi will go to Sydney from 22 to 24 May to participate in the Quad Summit. In his visit to Australia, PM Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on 24 May. Prime Minister Modi will interact with CEOs of Australian companies and leading businessmen and also address the Indian community at a community event in Sydney on 23 May.
