A petition was filed by a woman against the clean chit given by CBI to Congress MP Hibi Eden on sexual harassment charges. The plea was rejected by a Chief Judicial Magistrate court on Monday.

A lawyer with knowledge of the case said, along with dismissing the petition against the MP, the court has accepted the CBI report. CBI had earlier submitted a report in the court giving clean chit to 4 Congress leaders including MP Hibi Eden. Who was named accused in the sexual exploitation case.

What was special in the CBI report?
Recently, the CBI had also submitted a report to a magistrate court stating that it had found a criminal conspiracy behind naming late former CM Oommen Chandy in the solar case. Based on that, leader of opposition in the state assembly VD Satheesan had also demanded a probe to find out who had tried to implicate Chandy in the case.

The cases against six people, including late Congress leader and former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and BJP leader AP Abdullah Kutty, were registered over the years and were investigated by the Crime Branch of Kerala Police based on the woman's complaint.
