Pakistan: Child killed, four injured in explosion in junk shop in Multan

News of a massive explosion in a scrap shop in Multan, Pakistan has come to light. One child died and four others, including a woman, were injured in the explosion.
According to the information, the explosion took place in a junk shop in Tawakal town of Multan. ARY News quoted sources as saying that the child died on the spot, while the injured people were taken to Nishtar Hospital in Multan.
Police officials said that the deceased has been identified as Ahmed Ali. He further said that the incident is being investigated. Earlier, the SHO of Khuzdar Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) was killed in a blast targeting his vehicle.
According to police, the incident took place on Ibrahim Road in Khuzdar when the vehicle of SHO CTD Khuzdar Muhammad Murad was targeted. Police said a bomb was planted in the CTD officer's vehicle.
Police and security forces reached the blast site along with a bomb disposal squad who were assessing the scale of the blast. CTD police spokesperson said that the body of the deceased SHO was taken to the district headquarters hospital.
At least seven people, including three children, were injured in a bomb blast on Warsak Road in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa last week, ARY News reported. Police said that the blast took place near Babu Garhi Chowk.
Police said four kilograms of explosives kept on the roadside were used in the blast. The injured were taken to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment.
