Nuh Violence: A police investigation has revealed that a religious pilgrimage was attacked in Nuh to avenge the killing of cow smugglers Nasir and Junaid.

The police investigation into the violence in Haryana's Nuh on 31st July is progressing well. Somehow the truth is coming to the fore. During police interrogation, 4 of the arrested accused told that they had attacked the religious pilgrimage in Nuh to avenge the murder of Nasir and Junaid, residents of Rajasthan. He told the police that as soon as he came to know that Monu Manesar and many members of the Gau Raksha Dal would come on a religious visit, he prepared to attack and attacked along with fifty people already added. Due to this communal riots broke out in Haryana.

A police investigation has revealed that two youths from Kosi in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh were also involved in the violence. After this, the Nuh Police sought cooperation from the Mathura Police in the investigation. Four days ago, Salim, Sabir, Ashfaq, residents of Savler village of Pahadi police station area of Bharatpur, and Altaf, residents of Ghiseda village, were arrested and remanded by the police in connection with the violence. Salim was already accused in the case of cyber fraud and Altaf of cow smuggling.

In its investigation, the police told the media that when the four were interrogated by different crime branch teams, all of them confessed that Nasir and Junaid were members of their group. Both were burnt to death but the Nuh police did not take strict action. The side of cow protectors was taken. This angered him and fifty youths of his group, all of whom had come here together to attack the religious pilgrimage.

The youth living in Khedla were already in contact with him. Ten days before the violence, different groups were formed on social media. The members of the group were asked to avenge the killing of both. There was also a constant exchange of threats between cow protectors and various Meo groups to see each other on the internet media. Nuh Police spokesperson says that the Haryana Police has approached the Rajasthan Police seeking cooperation in nabbing the absconding accused.
