Today i.e. on 17th September, the country's Vice President and Rajya Sabha Speaker Jagdish Dhankhar hoisted the tricolor at the new Parliament House. Many senior leaders of the country were present on this occasion. Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjuna did not participate in the flag hoisting.

Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, Union Ministers V Muraleedharan, Piyush Goyal, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Congress MPs Adhir Ranjan Choudhary and Pramod Tiwari at the Parliament's new building ceremony.

Congress President Mallikarjuna was also invited to attend this occasion, but he refused. Kharge on Saturday met Rajya Sabha General Secretary P.C. Wrote a letter to Modi saying that he received the invitation for the program late in the evening of 15 September. He said, “I am writing this letter with disappointment that I have received your invitation for the flag hoisting ceremony at the new Parliament House tomorrow i.e. on the evening of September 15, 2023.”

Kharge is on a Hyderabad tour to attend the Congress Working Committee meeting on 16th and 17th September. He will return to Delhi late on Sunday night.

It is noteworthy that the special session of Parliament is going to be held between September 18 and September 22. The proceedings of this special session are expected to be held in the new Parliament House. For this, 11 cabinet ministers have been allotted rooms on the upper ground floor.
