According to data presented by Maruti Suzuki, 65 percent of the 10 lakh vehicles sold so far are equipped with AGS technology, which the company launched in 2014. AT automatic transmission models account for 27 percent of total sales, while hybrid e-CVT transmissions account for around 8 percent. Most of the company's automatic cars are sold from Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala.

Maruti offers a 5-speed AGS gearbox in Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, WagonR, Ignis, Swift, Dezire, Baleno, and Frontex. 4-speed AT is offered in Jimny and Ciaz. The advanced 6-speed AT with paddle shifters is available in the Ford Focus, Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, and Grand Vitara.
