Derek O'Brien, Dola Sen, Sukhendu Shekhar Ray, Samirul Islam, Prakash Chik Badaik, and Saket Gokhale are among the leaders nominated by the party on Monday. At the same time, after the announcement of these names, former President Pranab Mukherjee's son Abhijeet got shocked. It was believed that Mamata would send him to Rajya Sabha but it did not happen.

Mamata Banerjee has denied tickets to Shanta Chhetri and Sushmita Dev this time in the elections to be held on July 24. The party has made Sameerul Islam and Prakash Chik Baraik its candidates in their place. Where Sameerul Islam is the president and social worker of the Bangla Cultural Forum. Whereas, Prakash Chik Badaik is the party president of Alipurduar district.

Pranab Mukherjee's son and former MP Abhijeet Mukherjee, who left the Congress in July 2021 and joined Trinamool, was also in the race for Rajya Sabha. According to the notification issued by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, the election schedule for 10 seats of Rajya Sabha has been announced. It has 6 seats in West Bengal, 3 in Gujarat, and one in Goa. Voting for them will be held on July 24.
