According to media reports, what else has been said by the High Court in this matter. We are giving you this information in this news.

The Bombay High Court has declared the circular issued by the Transport Commissioner of Maharashtra regarding the BH Series invalid. According to the report, on April 12, the division bench of Justice Firdosh Pooniwala of the High Court declared the circular invalid. The court gave this decision during the hearing on the petition filed by senior civil judge Mahendra Patil. The petition disputed the circular and the rejection of the application for registration under the BH series.

On the petitioner's behalf, it was asserted that he had presented his official identity card along with proof of compliance with all the requirements outlined in the Central Motor Vehicles Act. Yet, the Transport Commissioner's circular from February 2024, which listed additional restrictions, was used as justification for rejecting his application. Moreover, certificates disclosing the applicant's office address, length of residency, and payments made in other states were to be provided.

Hearing the matter, the division bench said that the circular was beyond the competence of the Transport Commissioner and was in violation of established legal norms. After this, the court ordered that the circular be cancelled and the petitioner be given registration under the BH series within a week.
