The acclaimed actress secured the Best Actress accolade for her portrayal of a surrogate mother in the film, sharing this prestigious honor with fellow actress Alia Bhatt. Alia was recognized for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. The decision ignited online discussions, as the choice between Alia and Kangana Ranaut, a four-time National Award winner, had been fervently debated. Kangana's portrayal of the late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha was considered a strong contender.
