The Cyber Unit in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama on Sunday seized Rs 1,44,500 in two separate cases of online scam during the ongoing drive against financial fraud. The Cyber Cell swiftly investigated both incidents where victims were lured by promising lucrative work-from-home opportunities through WhatsApp links. These scams involved convincing victims to invest money with the promise of high returns.
Small jobs were initially given to the victims in order to win their trust. This was followed by requests for big investments, which resulted in significant financial losses. The public has been warned by the Jammu and Kashmir Police to remain watchful against fraudulent operations. The Cyber Unit of Pulwama Police and the Police Department reaffirm their dedication to protecting the community's financial interests. They commit to carrying out their aggressive campaigns to combat cybercrime and increase public awareness of online fraud.
