Jammu and Kashmir: NIA takes major action against terrorist organizations, 4 properties attached, Rs 2.27 crore seized
In a narco-terrorism case, the NIA has taken control of four properties in Jammu and Kashmir along with Rs 2.27 crore. In this case, the names of two terrorist organisations that are outlawed are Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.

In the case of narco-terrorism, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted a significant operation in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. In this case, the NIA has seized four properties in the valley along with Rs 2.27 crore. There are rumours that Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), two terrorist groups that are outlawed, are also involved in this case. The NIA claims that the four accused people's properties have been seized in the Kupwara district's Handwara.
NIA issued an official statement on Saturday saying that a two-storey house of accused Afaq Ahmed Wani, a one-storey house of accused Munir Ahmed Pandey, the house of Salim Andrabi and a two-storey house of Islam-ul Haq were seized. So far, 12 accused have been arrested in Handwara in the case of narco-terrorism. However, NIA has already filed a charge sheet against 15 accused.
The NIA said the case pertains to the use of 'narcotic drug proceeds' to finance violent terrorist activities by Lashkar and Hizbul operating in the Handwara-Kupwara region. A case was registered after a black bag and several Indian currency notes of Rs 500 denomination were recovered during the checking of vehicles in the Langate area of Handwara.
The officer said 21 kg of heroin was seized during preliminary searches at the houses of various accused. Apart from this, various incriminating materials including a large amount of cash were also seized. A case has been registered against the accused and they are being interrogated.
