A US-based Indian CEO and founder of a multinational software company died and its chairman was seriously injured when an iron cage contraption collapsed during a corporate event at Ramoji Film City (RFC) on Thursday night. The incident occurred during the silver jubilee program of Vistrex Asia Pacific Private Limited.

Illinois-based CEO Sanjay Shah, 56, died at a hospital in Hyderabad, while company chairman Vishwanath Raju Datla is battling for life.

Vistrex had booked rooms for its employees at RFC and was planning to organize a silver jubilee celebration in two days. A company official said, 'The lowering of Shah and Raju from the cage to the stage was a pre-planned event to start the event. During that time an accident happened.
