A senior officer of the Indian Embassy was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the mission premises in Washington DC. The incident that happened two days ago is being investigated by the local police and intelligence service, including even the possibility of suicide.
The Indian Embassy in the US, in its statement on Friday, stated, "It is with deep regret that we would like to inform that a member of the Indian Embassy passed away on the evening of 18 September 2024. It is in touch with all the concerned agencies and family members to send the body to India soon."
Further identification of the dead is being withheld as it would be distressing for the family members. Our condolences and prayers are with the relatives in this grief-stricken time. No more information was provided to that effect.
