Cyber fraud cases are continuously increasing in India. The latest report has come out from antivirus, mobile security, and identify monitoring company McAfee regarding cyber fraud. According to this report, internet users in India receive 12 fake messages every day. Users receive these scam-related messages through email, text, and social media platforms.
According to this report by McAfee, most of the scam messages received by Indians are related to fake job notifications. Apart from this, internet users also receive many fake bank alert messages.
According to the report, during the survey, it was revealed that 64 percent of the users remain trapped in the clutches of these job scams. There 52 percent of users became victims of bank alert scams.
The reason for increasing cases of cyber fraud has also come to light. According to this report by McAfee, users who fell into such scams failed to identify the scam message.
About 60 percent of the Indian participants in the survey believed that it is actually difficult to identify scam messages because these messages are prepared in such a way that they appear to be official messages of banks and companies.
The participants in the survey said that messages related to fake and scams can be identified by typos or some kind of error. But, with the increasing use of artificial technology, fake messages are being prepared just like official messages.
McAfee's study has revealed that an average Indian spends 105 minutes every week just to review such messages and verify whether the message is real or fake.
