In case of flight delay, report will have to be given thrice a day, 'war rooms' will be opened at 6 metro airports
The aviation ministry has asked six metro airports in the country, including Delhi and Mumbai, to set up 'war rooms' to immediately resolve any issues regarding passenger inconvenience.

The Civil Aviation Ministry has asked six metro airports, including Delhi, to submit reports thrice a day regarding disruptions in flights due to fog. Airlines will also set up 'war rooms' at these airports to resolve passenger issues. Apart from Delhi, these include the airports of Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has booked the Goa-Delhi flight for breaking several security rules and misbehaving with passengers while diverting it towards Mumbai. Show cause notices were issued to IndiGo and Mumbai International Airport on Tuesday. In Mumbai, passengers had to eat food sitting on the runway.
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday said it will be ensured that an adequate number of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel are available around the clock at metro airports. For the last few days, passengers have been facing problems due to delays in flights due to fog. Scindia said that the implementation of DGCA's instructions, and SOPs will be monitored and information will be taken regularly.
In the notices sent by BCAS to IndiGo and Mumbai Airport, it was said that if the reply is not given within the stipulated time, action will be taken. The fine will also be imposed. The notice criticized IndiGo and Mumbai Airport for their inability to properly anticipate or handle the situation. This includes providing poor accommodation to passengers on diverted flights and disregarding their needs. Indigo issued a statement saying that it has already started an internal inquiry into the matter. He will respond to the notice as per protocol.
