The Supreme Court has granted three months interim bail to Housing Development Infrastructure Limited (HDIL) promoter Rakesh Wadhawan. The Supreme Court has granted this bail to Rakesh Wadhawan on health grounds. The bench of Justice Aniruddha Bose and Justice Bela Trivedi approved the bail of Rakesh Wadhawan considering his health. Rakesh Wadhawan is also implicated in the Rs 4300 crore Punjab and Maharashtra Cooperative (PMC) Bank scam.

Court granted bail on medical grounds
The bench said in its order that considering the medical reports and health, we direct the petitioner to be released on bail on medical grounds. However, during the bail period, Rakesh Wadhawan will remain in police custody in his home. Rakesh Wadhawan will also have to bear the expenses of the policemen. The court said in its instructions that the state government will decide how many policemen will be required for this. Also, the state government should send the bill for the expenses of policemen to Rakesh Wadhawan every week.

The court gave these instructions for treatment
The court also said that if needed, Rakesh Wadhawan can be taken to JJ Hospital in Mumbai for treatment. If proper treatment is not available in JJ Hospital, then he can be taken to any other private hospital.
