A Malayalam film actress has filed a police complaint against a male passenger on board a Kochi-bound Air India flight, accusing her of harassment.

The incident reportedly occurred during a flight from Mumbai on Tuesday.

Taking to her social media platforms on Tuesday night, the actress alleged that the fellow passenger in question was "drunk and rowdy".

In an Instagram post detailing the incident, he also alleged that the response of the airline's ground office and the flight crew was "disappointing".

The woman lamented that despite reporting to the air hostess, the only action taken was to transfer her to another seat just before take-off.

After landing at the airport here, the issue was reported to the airport and airline officials, who referred them to the police assistance post there, he said.

He also shared a copy of the complaint lodged with the local police in this regard via email on his Instagram page.

He remembered how the drunk passenger had taken over his seat and engaged in a heated argument. She also accused him of "misbehavior, including inappropriate physical contact".

The woman said, I immediately informed the air hostess on the flight about the matter. However, the only action taken was that I was moved to the middle seat three, four rows ahead. Unfortunately, no other measures were taken against the harasser.

Meanwhile, Nedumbassery police on Wednesday said that they had received an email from her requesting to treat it as her formal complaint.

“We are investigating the matter,” an official told PTI. We are trying to contact them to gather more information regarding the incident. However, we have not been able to talk to him on the phone yet.

He said no case has been registered yet and further action will be decided after contacting them.
