Iran: Five Indian sailors aboard an Israeli ship (MSC Aries) seized by Tehran were released on Thursday and have left Iran, the Indian Embassy in Iran said. Sharing details of their release, the Indian Embassy said: “We appreciate the Iranian authorities for their close coordination with the Embassy and Indian Consulate in Bandar Abbas.

Five Indian sailors on board the MSC Aries were freed on Thursday night and departed Iran, according to a statement released on social media by the official spokesperson for the External Affairs Ministry Randhir Jaiswal. On April 13, Iran took control of the Israeli cargo ship, which was carrying 17 Indian nationals.
