Election Commission advice states to use NCC Scouts and Guides to protect themselves from heat waves

Keeping in view the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the Election Commission has issued an advisory this time to avoid the heat and heat waves. In this, polling personnel have been asked to take precautions and strictly comply with the minimum facilities and other facilities at all polling stations.

In addition, it has been requested that it use NCC, NSS, and Scouts Guide volunteers to assist in running the voting lines. In addition, it has been requested to set up sufficient facilities at each polling place, such as drinking water, sufficient furniture, electricity, restrooms, signage, and a waiting area until it is time to cast a ballot. According to the Election Commission's recommendation released on Monday, the Meteorological Department has hinted that the nation may experience above-average temperatures in the upcoming days. There are signs of heat waves, particularly between March and June. 

The Commission has also shared with the Chief Electoral Officers of the State a set of 'Dos and Don'ts' issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to mitigate the impact of the impending heat wave.
