Jaipur : Former Rajasthan minister and Congress MLA Rajendra Singh Gudha has joined the Shiv Sena in the presence of Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde.

Gudha was sacked from the Congress government in July this year after he raised questions about the law and order situation in the state. He had compared the crime against women in Rajasthan to the violence in Manipur.

Shinde, who is on a two-day visit to Rajasthan, welcomed Gudha to the Shiv Sena and said that he is a "true leader" who has always fought for the rights of the people.

Shinde also hit out at the Rajasthan government, saying that it has failed to provide good governance to the people. He said that the Shiv Sena will work to improve the law and order situation in the state and provide better facilities to the people.

Gudha said that he joined the Shiv Sena because he was impressed by the party's ideology and its commitment to the welfare of the people. He said that he will work hard to strengthen the party in Rajasthan.

The joining of Gudha is a major boost for the Shiv Sena in Rajasthan. He is a popular leader in his constituency and his joining the party is likely to help it to increase its vote share in the state.

The Congress, however, has dismissed Gudha's move, saying that it is his loss and not the party's. A senior Congress leader said that Gudha was a "troublemaker" and his exit from the party is a good thing.

The development comes at a time when the Shiv Sena is trying to expand its base in Rajasthan. The party had contested the 2018 assembly elections in the state but failed to win a single seat. However, it has been making inroads in the state in recent months and is hoping to win a few seats in the next assembly elections.
