Discrimination against female employees in the workplace, Activision will pay $50 million

Video game maker Activision Blizzard will now pay $50 million to settle a lawsuit filed by a California regulator in 2021. The video game maker has been accused of discriminating against female workers, including denying them opportunities for promotion and paying them less than men.

The California Department of Civil Rights (CRD) sued the manufacturer after a two-year investigation into allegations that the company not only routinely underpaid but also failed to promote female workers. This also includes sexual harassment. According to the settlement agreement, CRD will withdraw allegations of systemic sexual harassment.

Allegations are not confirmed
Video game maker Activision Blizzard has clearly acknowledged in its settlement statement with CRD that the allegations against it have not been corroborated by any court or independent investigation. She also said systemic or widespread sexual harassment at the company has not been proven.
