There has been a strong dust storm in Mumbai along with the first rain of this season. Because of this, the sky became dark. The people of Mumbai got relief due to rain but due to the storm, there was devastation in Ghatkopar.

An eighty-foot-long hoarding in Mumbai's Ghatkopar was uprooted by the storm. More than 100 people were left stranded on the scene of the accident, leaving 35 injured. This incident, according to an official, occurred at approximately 3:30 pm close to the gymkhana. Teams of firefighters and police were dispatched to the scene to offer emergency assistance. Over a hundred people were reportedly trapped between the hoardings and 35 people were injured in this accident, according to him. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene as well, the officer added. According to BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, relief and rescue efforts also involved the deployment of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to the location. The rescue effort involved the use of gas cutters and cranes.

There were strong winds along with rain in the Ghatkopar, Bandra Kurla, and Dharavi areas of Mumbai. On the other hand, the operation of air services at Mumbai airport was temporarily stopped. The airport authority said 15 flights were diverted during the storm. After this, air services started operating at 5:03 pm. Actually, pre-monsoon runway maintenance work was done at Mumbai airport last week. Because of this, the flights were operated on time.

On the other hand, the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains along with lightning and storms in Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar. The Meteorological Department says that along with the storm, lightning may also occur in many places. During this period, a strong dust storm may blow at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour.
