According to CNN, angry with the statement of the Foreign Minister, China immediately summoned the German Ambassador Patricia Flor present there. He expressed his protest to Patricia at the diplomatic level.
Biden has also called Jinping a dictator
China's Foreign Ministry said - The statement given by Germany is absurd and a violation of China's political dignity. This statement has been given to provoke China. Earlier in June, US President Biden had also called Xi Jinping a dictator.
After this there was a sharp reaction from Beijing. China's Foreign Ministry had said - This is completely contrary to the basic facts. Also, Biden's statement is against diplomatic etiquette.
Germany trying to reduce dependence on China
In July 2023, the German government presented its new China policy for the first time. In this document it was said to reduce Germany's dependence on China. Under this policy, Germany had announced to stop cooperation in research. According to the 64-page document, Germany wants to withdraw money from those projects with China in which knowledge transfer can take place.
At the same time, Germany's coalition government says that it does not want to completely separate itself from China, the world's second largest economy. Germany is an export dependent economy and China is its biggest market. Tension with Beijing will also affect Germany's exports. China's Foreign Ministry has termed the move as harmful to Germany's New China Policy.
Foreign Minister advocates adopting a tough attitude towards China
Germany's Foreign Minister Baerbock has consistently talked about adopting a tough attitude towards China. Barebock has also given statements against China in the matter of Taiwan and human rights. In August, Baerbock told an Australian think-tank that China has created a challenge to the infrastructure of living together in the world.

Germany becoming active in Indo-Pacific region
