Germany trying to reduce dependence on China

According to the 64-page document, Germany wants to withdraw money from those projects with China in which knowledge transfer can take place.

At the same time, Germany's coalition government says that it does not want to completely separate itself from China, the world's second largest economy. Germany is an export dependent economy and China is its biggest market. Tension with Beijing will also affect Germany's exports. China's Foreign Ministry has termed the move as harmful to Germany's New China Policy.

Foreign Minister advocates adopting a tough attitude towards China
Germany's Foreign Minister Baerbock has consistently talked about adopting a tough attitude towards China. Barebock has also given statements against China in the matter of Taiwan and human rights.
