'CBI should investigate the murder of former Shiv Sena councilor'; High Court said - negligence in police investigation
Maharashtra: The bench said that the police did not investigate some aspects. The court said that after such lapses, the police cannot be allowed to continue the investigation, it may hamper the process of getting justice.
The investigation into the murder of former Shiv Sena councilor Abhishek Ghosalkar was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) by the Bombay High Court on Friday. The court ruled that the police did not investigate some aspects. The petition of Tejaswi Ghosalkar, the deceased councilor's wife, was accepted by a division bench led by Justice Revati Revati Mohite Dere. In her petition, she expressed her concerns about the police investigation and requested a CBI investigation.

On February 8, local businessman Maurice Noronha shot Ghosalkar to death during a Facebook Live session. Noronha committed suicide not long after the incident occurred. Police eventually apprehended Noronha's bodyguard, Amarendra Singh. In fact, the bodyguard's gun was used in this situation.
Police said Noronha was upset with Ghosalkar over a number of issues. Noronha believed Ghosalkar was behind the rape charges against him, and he ended his political career.
