Bird hits the engine of SpiceJet flight, Leh bound plane lands back in Delhi; There were 135 passengers on board

According to official sources the aircraft took off from IGI airport at 1030 hrs and landed safely at around 1100 hrs.
After a bird struck Engine 2 on a SpiceJet flight headed for Leh on Sunday, authorities declared a complete emergency at the airport. The aircraft then made its way back to Delhi.
Officials say the aircraft departed IGI airport at 10:30 at night and touched down without incident at about 11:00.
According to an airline official, a bird strike on engine 2 caused the SpiceJet B737 aircraft, which was flying SG-123 from Delhi to Leh on May 26, 2024, to return to Delhi.
A representative for the airline said that all passengers disembarked normally after the plane touched down safely in Delhi. Not an emergency landing, but a routine landing was performed by the aircraft. 135 persons were on board the aircraft, according to accounts.
