MG Motor has registered a growth of more than 18 per cent in February 2024. The carmaker sold 4,532 units last month, higher than the number of 3,825 cars sold in January this year. The bulk of MG Motor's sales are coming from the Hector SUV, which is its best-selling car in India. However, the company has not shared the sales reports of different models.

Electric vehicles also have a major contribution to the total sales of MG Motor. MG Motor said that last month the share of EV in its total sales was about 33 percent. This means that MG Motor sold more than 1,400 units of electric cars in February. The company has done well in the electric car market with offerings like the ZS EV and Comet EV.

MG Motor launched the facelift version of the Hector SUV in January last year. The starting ex-showroom price of this SUV, which competes with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, is Rs 14.95 lakh. At the same time, its top-end variant goes up to Rs 21.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Apart from Hector, MG also sells SUVs like Astor and Gloster in India, which are available with ICE.

MG Motor is currently planning to focus on the electric vehicle segment. For this, apart from launching new models, the automaker is also expanding its EV lineup. MG aims to launch 5 new cars in India by 2028 and most of them will be electric vehicles.
