The income of the artisans associated with this will also increase.
Bamboo cane and zardosi are also registered under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme. According to expert Dr Rajnikanth, who was awarded the Padshree award for his distinguished work in the field of GI tag, the NRI Welfare Society of Faridpur Mohalla Mirdhan for Bareilly Zardozi Craft on 19 July 2022 and Tiliapur (CBganj) for the bamboo-cane furniture of Bareilly. K's Modern Village Industries Service Institute applied on 18 July 2022. Now they have been registered. Chennai Institute of GI Tag has registered these products.
The Zardozi enterprise in Bareilly employs roughly four lakh people. Although the sale of bamboo and cane furniture is still very popular in this area, it has declined as a result of the unclear Bareilly GST, stable product prices, numerous restrictions, and difficulties encountered internationally.
An indicator known as a "GI tag" is used to distinguish products with unique qualities from a specific region. For ten years, GI registration has still in effect. It might occasionally be extended.
Once GI tag status is granted, no other manufacturer can misuse its name for marketing products. This assures customers about the authenticity of the product. GI of a product prevents unauthorized use of other registered GIs. This provides legal protection including branding, marketing, and export of the product.
According to Zardozi traders, for some time the prices of Zari-Zardozi raw materials like silk, Kardana beads, Kora Kasab, fish wire, Nakshi, gems, beads, tubes, Chanala, Jarkan Nori, leaves, mirrors, gold chains etc. have been increasing. developed. Relative to this, prices of finished goods are stable. Similar is the condition of cane furniture also.
