Aryna Sabalenka defeated Jessica Pegula in the final of the Cincinnati Open to claim her first title since January's Australian Open. The Belarusian player put on a dominant performance to win 6-3, 7-5 in just 76 minutes, her 15th career title and her sixth at the WTA 1,000 level. The win ended a nine-match winning streak for American Pegula, who recently defended her Canadian Open title.

Sabalenka took control of the match early. She won the first set by breaking Pegula's serve in the fourth game. The 26-year-old struggled for a while in the second set when Pegula made a comeback. However, Sabalenka immediately regained her composure, broke Pegula's serve again, and confidently won the match. The win comes after Sabalenka's impressive semifinal win over world number one Iga Swiatek. This will ensure her dominance in the upcoming US Open starting on August 26.
