Amidst the alert of a 9 magnitude earthquake, a strong tremor of 6.0 magnitude hit

With the earthquake of 9 magnitude in Japan, every day earthquakes more than 6 magnitude are being felt continuously. Not only in India but in many countries of the world, high-intensity earthquakes are happening. It includes not only the countries which come in the zone of Ring of Fire but also those countries which are not sensitive to earthquakes. Now scientists have become more concerned about earthquakes and they try to find out causes behind earthquakes. Actually, a big 6.0 magnitude quake hit Tonga in early morning. The earthquake occurred at about 4:09 am according to the local time.

The epicentre of this earthquake was 128 km east from Tonga; the depth in the ground was 10 km. However, there has been no report of any loss of life or property due to this earthquake so far. According to the report of the US Geological Survey, based on the earthquake, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not immediately issue a tsunami warning.

These Pacific island countries, like Fiji, Tonga, and Vanuatu, are located on the so-called Pacific "Ring of Fire"-an arc of earthquake and volcanic areas where continental plates often collide, causing seismic activities. That is why earthquakes happen very frequently here.
