America: 400 employees of the company were fired from their jobs on one phone call, this is why the decision was taken

Italian and US automaker Stellantis laid off more than 400 employees working in its engineering, software and technology departments in the US.

According to a report, the car manufacturer has told the employees in a notice that we are going to organize important meetings, which will require special participation. Employees who participated in the remote call were told they were being laid off from their jobs as mechanical engineers.

The Stellantis company outsources work to Brazil, Mexico, and India. The company claims that because low-cost nations are profitable for it, it wants to grow its business there. It goes on to say that the global auto industry is dealing with never-before-seen uncertainty. According to Stellantis, these choices are made to increase worker productivity.

This decision by Stanlantis comes at a time when many American companies are laying off employees. Numerous businesses have notified staff members of impending layoffs. Previously, Twitter had also made a lot of layoffs. Goldman Sachs was criticised after Twitter. Large corporations like Google and Amazon made mass layoffs of their workforce in January 2024. Now many employees from Stanlentis were also laid off. More than 400 people have been laid off by the company.
