According to the information, this accident happened between 11 am and 12 noon local time. Sierra Leone's National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) gave information about this entire incident. The building that collapsed was not only residential, but it was also used for commercial purposes.
Sierra Leone's National Disaster Management Agency said about this accident that 8 people have died after getting trapped under the debris of the building after it collapsed. However, the rescue team is continuing to search under the debris.
The rescue team has rescued 6 people who were victims of this accident. These people have been safely evacuated from under the debris. Rescue operations are still underway to evacuate people still trapped under the debris.
An investigation has begun into the incident. NDMA officials have begun investigating the causes of the disaster. NDMA Director General Brima Sesay also reaffirmed the agency's commitment to raising public awareness about the risks associated with the use of unqualified contractors and substandard construction materials that led to the accident.
