14-year-old rape victim gets permission to abort pregnancy at 28 weeks, Supreme Court gives big decision
SC on Abortion: The Supreme Court has given a big decision on Monday. The Supreme Court has allowed a 14-year-old rape victim to abort her pregnancy at 28 weeks. The Supreme Court has given this decision keeping in mind the medical report presented by the hospital. In the report, it was said that there was a negative impact on the physical and mental health of the minor.

The Supreme Court on Monday allowed a 14-year-old alleged rape victim to undergo medical abortion of her pregnancy of about 28 weeks. The top court passed the order after taking into account the medical report submitted by the hospital. The report recommended medical termination of the minor and stated that continuing the pregnancy would have a negative impact on the physical and mental health of the minor.
In the exercise of its powers under Article 142 of the Constitution (which empowers it to pass orders necessary to do complete justice in any case) a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud ordered the Lokmanya Tilak Nagar Medical College and General Instructed the Dean of the Hospital (LTMGH). A team of doctors will be immediately formed in Sion, Mumbai to terminate the pregnancy.
Earlier on April 19, the apex court had ordered a medical examination of the minor. Let us tell you that the victim had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to abort her 28-week pregnancy.

The court had asked Lokmanya Tilak Medical College and Hospital (LTMGH) located in Sion, Mumbai to submit a report in this regard if the victim gets a medical abortion or if he is advised not to do so, what effect it is likely to have on his physical and psychological condition.
