Titanic wreckage is 3,800 metres below the surface of the ocean, and plans to visit it have begun; 5 people have already perished there

Marine explorer Patrick Lahey and American real estate billionaire Larry Connor are organizing a submarine expedition to the Titanic wreckage. In the North Atlantic Ocean, they wish to descend to a depth of roughly 3,800 meters. When the Oceangate company's submarine exploded last year as it approached the Titanic wreckage, five people perished. The planned trip would only go ahead with a maritime organization's approval, according to a representative for Connor's company.

According to the report of the American newspaper Wall Street Journal, the name of the submarine will be 'Triton 4000/2 Abyssal Explorer'. Its price is said to be around Rs 166 crore. It can go up to a depth of four thousand meters in the sea. Oceangate's Titan submarine was built from carbon fiber. It was built to go to a depth of only 1,300 meters, which is much less than the depth where the wreck of Titanic lies.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Larry Connor said that he wants to show the world how amazing and enjoyable the sea can be along with being powerful. If you take the right steps, a journey can change your perspective. The Titanic set off on its first voyage from Southampton to New York on April 10, 1912. Four days later, 1,517 passengers died when it collided with an iceberg and sank.

In June 2023, Oceangate CEO Stockton Rush (61) and four other crew members were killed when a submarine exploded while heading to the Titanic wreck. These included British Pakistani billionaire Prince Dawood, his son Suleman, British businessman Hamish Harding, and a French diver. Many of Stockton Rush's advisors had warned him about Titan's safety concerns.
